Karachi: At least four people, including two foreign nationals, were killed and several others injured in a car explosion on the campus of Karachi University in Pakistan’s financial capital on Tuesday. According to initial reports, an explosion took place in a van near the Confucius Institute in the university.

Local media reports said the van was carrying lecturers including three foreign nationals (Chinese) who were returning after teaching at the university. These lecturers were apparently teachers in the Chinese language department.

According to reports, four people, including three foreign nationals, were killed in the blast. Urdu language Jang newspaper reported that the blast was caused by a remotely controlled device. Police sources said that seven-eight people were in the van. However, the exact number of casualties is not yet known.
