KARACHI: At least 15 students from Pakistan’s minority Hindu community were injured on Tuesday during a brawl after members of a radical Islamic students’ organization allegedly prevented them from celebrating Holi on the Karachi University campus here.
This is the second such incident in the last two days. A similar incident took place on Monday at the Law College of Panjab University when around 30 Hindu students had gathered to celebrate Holi. During this, 15 students were injured in the attack on them.
A Karachi University official said that there was an incident in the Sindhi department where Hindus and other students were celebrating Holi and throwing colors at each other when some students attacked them and injured them.
The officer said, “We are investigating this incident, which is completely against our policies.” A Hindu student wearing a mask along with other students later released a video on Twitter outlining the entire incident. Did. “Activists of Islami Jamiat Tulba came and attacked the students who were celebrating Holi on the campus. They beat up many students.”
The girl student said, “They also harassed girl students and we had to leave the place. We had gathered to celebrate the festival of Holi. I want the government and the university to take action against those responsible.”
