New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain and one of the deadliest all-rounders in the world, Shahid Afridi has a long history brimming with controversies. Now Afridi has given such a statement which has surprised everyone. Afridi revealed that during the Super-4 match of the Asia Cup 2022 between India and Pakistan, his daughter waved the Indian flag instead of the Pakistan flag. Shahid Afridi told a Pakistani TV channel that the stadium had only 10 percent of fans from Pakistan, while 90 percent of fans were from India.
Afridi told Sama TV, ‘Yes, I came to know that there were more Indian fans there.’ He further said, ‘My family was sitting there in the stadium during the match. My wife was telling me that here only 10 percent are Pakistanis, while the rest 90 percent are Indians. Even though there were no Pakistani flags, so my younger daughter was waving the flag of India in her hand. I have videos. I was thinking of tweeting the video.
It is worth noting that in a thrilling match in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament in Dubai on 4 September, Pakistan defeated India by five wickets with opener Mohammad Rizwan’s half-century and his half-century partnership with Mohammad Nawaz.
Chasing India’s 182-run target, Pakistan finished third between Rizwan (71 off 51 balls, six fours, and two sixes) and career-best Nawaz (42 off 20 balls, six fours, two sixes). Wicket’s partnership of 73 runs with one ball remaining, scored 182 runs for five wickets.
