Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, a close aide of Imran Khan and Finance Minister, lost to former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in the Senate elections on Wednesday. Gilani, a senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), was the unanimous candidate of the opposition coalition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
