New Delhi: It is being said that IT sector giant Infosys will close all its offices in Russia. British media has accused Rishi Sunak, son-in-law of company co-founder NR Narayana Murthy, of profiteering from Vladimir Putin’s regime. Rishi is the Chancellor of Britain.
The BBC has claimed, quoting sources, that Infosys has asked its employees based in Moscow to look for work elsewhere.

Earlier Infosys denied having any active business relationship with local enterprises, and said the company had promised $1 million for relief for victims of the war in Ukraine.

Why the pressure to stop operation?
Let us tell you that Sage Sunak is married to Akshata Murthy, daughter of Narayan Murthy. It is being said that Akshata Murthy has shares of more than 400 million pounds in Infosys. However, Rishi Sunak has denied the reports. Akshata Murthy is estimated to own more than 0.9% stake in Infosys. A spokesperson for Rishi Sun has previously said that neither he nor any of his family members “have any involvement in the decisions of the company’s operations.

Business in Russia for 6 years
Infosys, one of India’s largest companies with presence in around 50 countries, set up an engineering center in Moscow in 2016. It is being said that 100 people work there. After Russia invaded Ukraine, many IT firms suspended their operations in the country. But Infosys had said that it has a small team working there.

Sunak and Akshata Murthy met during their business degree at Stanford University. They married in 2009 and have two children.
