Virginia: A 6-year-old child shot his teacher at a school in Newport News city, Virginia, USA, injuring him. City police officials said that the student in the first class was shot because of a dispute with the teacher, due to which she was badly injured. Police said the child had a handgun in the classroom and they took the student into custody. Investigators are trying to find out where the child got the gun.

This incident took place at Richneck Elementary School. Police said that no student was injured in the shooting at the school. The teacher has suffered serious injuries, and she has been admitted to the hospital. Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew said his condition had improved somewhat by late afternoon.
