Emergency landing of Air India’s Delhi-San Francisco flight at Magadan Airport Russia

New Delhi: Due to a technical fault in the engine of the Delhi-San Francisco flight, it was diverted towards Magadan city of Russia. According to the news agency ANI, an Air India official told that the flight has been safely landed in Russia. There were 216 passengers and 16 crew on board the flight. The technical glitch is being investigated.

According to the information received, Air India flight AI173 was going to the US city of San Francisco after taking off from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport Delhi). Meanwhile, an Air India spokesperson said that Air India flight AI173 from Delhi to San Francisco developed a technical snag in one of its engines. The flight with 216 passengers and 16 crew was diverted and landed safely at Magadan Airport in Russia.

The spokesperson informed that all assistance is being provided to the passengers on the ground and alternate options will be provided to them to reach their destinations at the earliest. Mandatory ground checking of the aircraft is underway.
