Amritsar: A panic broke out in an Air India flight last evening when Air India flight AI-479 from Delhi to Amritsar was just taking off from Delhi airport at 20:55 when the pilot of the aircraft Turned back to land at Delhi airport.
The passengers did not understand why the plane was being taken back to Delhi Airport. Passengers gasped when they came to know that there was a technical fault in the aircraft. The passengers gave up their seats and repeatedly asked the flight staff the reason, but the staff continued to insist they sit on the seats. The aircraft returned to the same terminal it had departed from. The passengers came to know that they had escaped death and returned back to the Delhi airport. Technical experts of the aircraft were called to rectify the fault in the aircraft.
The passengers came out of the plane and started protesting that even after the plane was fixed, they would not travel to Amritsar in it. Passengers of the Air India plane that crashed at the Delhi airport staged a protest demanding the replacement of the plane. The airport authorities arranged another flight with the new aircraft at around 1.30 am and the passengers reached Amritsar at around 2.30 am.
