Washington: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States has approved the emergency use of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 Vaccine vaccine. This is the third vaccine approved to be used in the US to prevent coronavirus infection. US President Joe Briden called it another step to end the Covid-19 crisis and said it was encouraging news for all US citizens. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires only one dose instead of two doses. The vaccines of this company were approved on Saturday.
Earlier Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were approved in the US in December last year. Pfizer and Moderna require two doses to be applied in two weeks. FDA Executive Commissioner Janette Woodcock said, “The approval of this (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine expands the availability of vaccines.” The use of anti-Corona virus vaccines is the best therapeutic method to prevent Covid-19, which has killed more than half a million people in the United States. “
The FDA reported that the available data are a clear indication that Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine may be effective in preventing infection. President Biden said, “We know that the more people who are vaccinated, the faster we will be able to deal with the virus, we will be able to meet our friends and loved ones and get our economy back on track.” He appealed to the people to take full precautions in view of the new variant (format) of Covid-19.
