He was undergoing treatment at Criticare Hospital in Mumbai for the last month. He was discharged on Monday. But on Tuesday, his health deteriorated and his family called a doctor to visit his house. After this Singer was again brought to the hospital.

Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital, said, “Lahiri was hospitalized for almost a month and was discharged from the hospital on Monday, but his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called a doctor home. He was brought to the hospital. He had many health problems. He died late at night due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).”

Bappi Lahiri had many health problems due to old age. Known as Bappi Da, he was known as much for his hit numbers as he was for his fascination for gold. Bappi Lahiri composed songs for films like Disco Dancer, Himmatwala, Sharabi, Adventures of Tarzan, Dance Dance, Satyamev Jayate, Commando, Aaj Ke Shahenshah, Thanedar, Numbri Aadmi, and Shola and Shabnam. The singer and composer’s first major Bollywood hit score was for Aamir Khan’s father Tahir Hussain’s film Zakhmi.

Bappi Lahiri, who touched the hearts of people through his music and songs in the 1980s and 1990s, sang and composed music for superhit films like Disco Dancer, Sharabi, and Namak Halal. Bappi Lahiri was born on 27 November 1952 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. He belonged to a Bengali Brahmin family.
