Kabul: Star all-rounder Rashid Khan on Tuesday appealed for peace in Afghanistan, asking world leaders not to leave his country amid “anarchy” amid escalating violence.

Rashid tweeted, “Dear world leaders! My country is facing anarchy, thousands of innocent people including children and women are getting martyred every day. Homes and property are being destroyed. Thousands of families have been displaced… don’t leave us in chaos. Stop killing Afghans and destroying Afghanistan. we want peace.”

The situation in Afghanistan is getting worse day by day. Attacks against civilians have killed or injured more than 1,000 people in Helmand, Kandahar, and Herat provinces in the past month.

Terrorist attacks in Afghanistan have intensified since the US began withdrawing its troops on May 1. The Taliban have so far captured more than half of Afghanistan’s 400 districts. The US has already withdrawn most of its troops from Afghanistan and plans to withdraw all of its troops by August 31.
