California: The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) has expressed its outrage over the repeated vandalism of Hindu temples in California, USA. The latest incident occurred on Friday when pro-Khalistan graffiti was found on the walls of the Sherawali temple in the Bay Area. This follows similar attacks on the Shiv Durga temple and the Shri Swaminarayan temple in the past few weeks, where pro-Khalistan slogans were also spray-painted.

The HAF has urged the local authorities to investigate these hate crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice. The HAF has also called for increased security and awareness around Hindu places of worship, which have been targeted by extremist groups in the past.

The US State Department has also denounced the attack on the Shri Swaminarayan temple, which took place on March 1, 2024. In a statement, the department said, “We condemn the attack on the Hindu temple Shri Swaminarayan Temple in California. We also commend the Newark Police Department for its efforts to hold those responsible accountable.”
