Panama City: Storms hit the southern states of America early Saturday, killing at least one person in the state of Louisiana, and falling down electric wires and trees in Mississippi. It has also caused massive havoc in Florida.

Saint Landry Parrish chief Jessie Bellard confirmed the death of one person from a morning storm in Palmetto, Louisiana. He told KLFY-TV that 27-year-old Jose Antonio died after being hit by the storm. Ballard also said that seven injured have been sent to local hospitals. There are reports of electric wires breaking and falling trees in Mississippi, but no casualties are reported.

A house and a facility center collapsed due to a storm outbreak on Florida’s Panama City Beach. Officials gave this information on Facebook. A photograph of the Panama City News Herald showed the facility center’s walls and ceilings collapsing. However, its counter and other items appeared to be safe. There is no report of any casualty in it. The city, which falls in Bay County, was severely affected in 2018 by Hurricane Mikhail.

In a photo shared by some news organizations, glass panes of cars appeared in Orange Beach, Alabama. The storm was accompanied by rains in large parts of Louisiana and the Mississippi. Ballard said search and rescue operations are continuing in Louisiana. According to the National Weather Service, it was an ‘EF3’ category storm with winds blowing from 209 kilometers to 225 kilometers per hour. There have also been reports of floods in some places.
