Boston: Abraham Lincoln’s hair bunch and a blood-stained wire detailing his assassination in 1865 were sold for over 81 thousand dollars during an auction here. According to Boston’s RR auction, these items were bid during the auction that ended on Saturday. However, buyer information has not been shared. During Lincoln’s postmortem, this bunch of hair just two inches long was cut. He was shot and killed at the Ford Theater in Washington DC.

According to the RR auction, this hair bunch was presented to Dr. Lemon Beecher Todd, a relative of Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of the sixteenth President of the United States, and Kentucky’s postmaster. Dr. Todd was present during Lincoln’s postmortem. Dr. Todd was attached to the Kentucky Post Office by his assistant, George Kinnear, with a bunch of hair on a government telegram. A telegram was received in Washington on April 14, 1865 at 11 o’clock
