New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress took up Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s case of alleged bias towards the BJP, claiming that there was a lot of public evidence in the case. Party MP Derek O’Brien also referred to an earlier meeting with him in a letter to Zuckerberg, in which some of these cases were raised. A copy of this letter is available with ‘PTI-Bhasha’. Party sources said O’Brien met Zuckerberg in October 2015.

O’Brien said, “All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), India’s second-largest opposition party, has serious concerns about the role of Facebook in India’s 2014 and 2019 elections.” He wrote, “Just a few months before elections were held in the Indian state of West Bengal, the blocking of your company’s Facebook page and accounts in Bengal recently also pointed to a relationship between Facebook and BJP. There is a lot of public evidence, including an internal memo from Facebook’s senior management, that is enough to prove bias. “
