New Delhi: While most parts of India are experiencing normal weather conditions, some states are facing extreme cold due to snowfall in the hilly regions. The National Capital Region (NCR) and Delhi are among the places where the cold winds have lowered the temperature significantly. Some districts of Maharashtra are also feeling the chill.
However, the cold wave is not the only weather challenge that India is facing. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted unseasonal rain in some states, which could cause disruption and damage. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for the next six days, starting from today. The IMD has issued an alert for the people living in these areas to be prepared for the unexpected rainfall.
The IMD has also attributed the unseasonal rain to the strong north-eastern winds, which are affecting the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. The same winds are also bringing moisture to the northern states, resulting in rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. The IMD has warned that the unseasonal rain could hamper agricultural activities and pose a risk of flooding and landslides in some regions. The IMD has advised the people to follow the weather updates and take necessary precautions.
