IMD predicts light to heavy rain in most parts of India in coming days

New Delhi: People across the country are expected to get some relief from the scorching heat soon. In fact, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to heavy rains in most parts of India in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, favorable conditions have been created for rains during the next three days due to the advance of southwest monsoon in some parts of the Bay of Bengal.

However, according to the latest IMD bulletin, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of Uttar Pradesh till Monday, in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow i.e. Sunday, and in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand till Tuesday.

On the other hand, due to moist air and high temperature during the next five days, there is a possibility of hot weather in the Konkan region and also in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

Meteorological Department’s forecast for the next 5 days
Northeast India- According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in Northeast India during the next 5 days. During this, there is a possibility of lightning and rain with strong winds.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya from 20 to 24 May and Tripura and Mizoram on 24 May.

East India: Light to moderate rain and thundershowers with lightning and gusty winds are very likely over most parts of the region during the next 5 days.

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on May 20, 23, and 24.

Northwest India: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning and strong winds in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on 22 and 23 May and in the western Himalayan region on 23 May.

There is a possibility of a dust storm in different parts of Rajasthan from May 22 to May 24.

Rains

Under the influence of a fresh Western Disturbance, scattered rain and thundershowers are very likely over many parts of northwest India mainly from May 23 to 25 followed by a drop in temperature.

Central India: Light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds is very likely over Chhattisgarh during the next 5 days, while rain is likely over Vidarbha on May 22 and 23.

South India: Light to moderate rain, lightning, and gusty winds are very likely over most parts of the region during the next five days.
