New Delhi: As India transitions into the cooler months, the weather is showing a dynamic shift across several states. A mild cold front has arrived, bringing an early chill and a veil of fog to many regions. This change is creating a unique blend of chilly mornings and evenings, coupled with pleasant sunlight during the day, making the cooler weather enjoyable for most. However, in Delhi, air pollution is adding a layer of difficulty, as residents struggle with breathing issues amid the dip in temperatures.

Delhi’s Air Quality Worsens, But Weather Remains Stable

In the capital, Delhiites are feeling the pinch of air pollution even as the weather remains largely clear. The Meteorological Department has forecast stable weather conditions for the next few days, with only occasional light cloud cover. Today, Delhi is expected to witness a maximum temperature of 34°C and a minimum of 20-21°C. As Diwali approaches, fluctuations in temperature are anticipated, but no significant weather changes are expected in the immediate future.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about an impending cyclonic storm, ‘Tufaan Dana,’ developing in the Bay of Bengal. This storm is expected to intensify near the Odisha coast on October 23, bringing the possibility of heavy rains and strong winds to the region. The storm could reach the coastal areas between Puri and Sagar Islands, affecting both Odisha and West Bengal, by October 24. A low-pressure system currently over the East-Central Bay of Bengal and North Andaman Sea is predicted to intensify further, leading to heavy rainfall in parts of South Bengal and Odisha.

Uttar Pradesh: Dry Days with Cooler Nights Ahead
