New Delhi: In a heart-wrenching incident on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district, a tempo traveler carrying 23 passengers veered off the road and plummeted into a deep gorge near the Alakananda River. The tragic accident resulted in the loss of ten lives, with seven others sustaining injuries.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently conducting rescue operations to aid those affected by this calamity. The swift response of the rescue teams reflects their commitment to providing immediate assistance in such critical situations.
Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. In his statement, he confirmed that the injured parties had been promptly transported to the nearest medical facility to receive necessary treatment.

The Chief Minister’s post read: “Received very sad news of a tempo traveler accident in Rudraprayag district. Local administration and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. The injured have been sent to the nearest medical center for treatment. The district magistrate has been ordered to investigate the incident.”
