Tehran: After the death of Mahsa Amini, the ruckus in Iran is not taking its name to stop. The movement has intensified and it has entered the fourth week. Iran’s state TV was hacked during a live broadcast with a message supporting anti-government protesters. During Saturday’s 9 p.m. show, a mask suddenly appeared on the screen, followed by a picture of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei with flames. The text was written in Persian on the picture. It was said that ‘the blood of our youth is on your hands’.
According to ANI, photographs were shown of those killed in the demonstration, including 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who died in the custody of Iranian ethics police after the TV was hacked. Above those pictures was a picture of Khamenei with a crosshair on his forehead. The group that hacked State TV called itself “Adalat Ali” or Ali’s Justice. Along with the pictures on the screen, a message also read ‘Join us and get up.’ The picture remained on the screen for several seconds.
Earlier in the day, several videos went viral on social media purportedly showing female students at a university in Tehran raising “go back” slogans during the visit of President Ibrahim Raisi.
Nationwide protests have gripped Iran after Amini’s death. Let us tell you that Amini was accused that she was not wearing the hijab properly. After his death, a series of demonstrations started with violent clashes across the country. The death toll since the protests began is different from those of the government and those of opposition groups, international rights organizations and local journalists.
