“We want a more collaborative framework than ever before, in which solutions can be found and the way forward is paved,” he said. Trimurti said India would also emphasize the importance of following international rules and laws. “We will emphasize these messages broadly,” he said. We will promote multilateralism. “

Trimurti said that during his tenure as a member of the UNSC, issues like counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, maritime security, multilateralism reform, technology for the people, welfare of women and youth would be India’s priority. India, Norway, Kenya, Ireland and Mexico will join as temporary members in the year 2021.

In addition, Estonia, Niger, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia and Vietnam are temporary members of the UNSC. China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States are permanent members. India will chair the UNSC in August 2021 and then the Council for one month in 2022. Members have the opportunity to take turns chairing the council.
