Nine terrorists killed in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: An army officer was kidnapped and killed by the banned group Balochistan Liberation Army in Pakistan, following which at least nine terrorists were killed in action by security forces. Government and security officials gave this information on Friday. Military and local officials said that 15 terrorists disguised as police on Tuesday abducted Colonel Laiq Mirza and killed him on Thursday. At the time of the kidnapping, Laik was on his way to a resort in Ziarat town with his family.

The military did not share any further details about Friday’s operation. The group claimed that he had killed Mirza. In the year 2019, the US declared the Balochistan Liberation Army a terrorist group.

The group claimed that it killed Mirza but left his family members alive as they were not involved in the crimes against the group. Local government officials confirmed that the terrorists had released the colonel’s family members.
