Doda: A fierce encounter erupted between terrorists and Indian soldiers on Monday night in the dense forests of Doda district, resulting in serious injuries to five security personnel, including an army officer. The incident occurred during a special search operation conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Desa forest area around 7:45 PM.

According to officials, the operation was based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. As the joint team advanced, they were met with sudden and indiscriminate gunfire, leading to a prolonged exchange of fire that lasted over 20 minutes. Four army personnel, including an officer, and a police officer were critically injured and have been evacuated to a hospital for treatment.

The 16th Corps of the Indian Army, also known as the White Knight Corps, provided updates on social media, stating that the operation commenced around 9 PM following the intelligence tip-off. The initial reports confirmed injuries among the brave soldiers, and additional troops had been deployed to continue the operation. The situation remains tense as the search for the terrorists is ongoing, with more information awaited.
