New Delhi: The Ministry of Health said that the new variant Omicron of Corona has spread to 108 countries of the world. Not only this, till now 1.51 lakh cases infected with it have been reported. At the same time, 26 people have lost their lives. Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health gave this information.

He told that more than 1 lakh 51 thousand cases have been reported in 108 countries in the world. 26 people have died due to its infection. Britain, America, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Canada, Germany, South Africa have the highest number of cases of this virus.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the WHO said on 7 December that the speed of Omicron is higher than that of Delta. This is a matter of concern for us. So we have to follow covid rules. Omicron cases double within 1.5-3 days, so we have to be vigilant with the proper handling of COVID. According to a UK study, Omicron is spreading more rapidly than indoors and in contact. But it is a matter of relief that the previous treatment protocols of Corona are also useful in this.

7000 cases on an average daily in India
Rajesh, Secretary of the Ministry of Health said that cases of corona are increasing every week in America, Europe, and Africa. At the same time, these cases are decreasing in Asia. Let us tell you that in the last 24 weeks in India, the average daily cases are 7 thousand. For the last four weeks, less than 10 thousand cases are coming every day in India.

Five states top Omicron
He said a fourth wave is coming in the world. So we have to be cautious. We cannot tolerate procrastination. According to the Health Ministry, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Karnataka are the top five states in terms of increasing omicron. He said, 358 omicron cases have been reported in 17 states/union territories of India. Out of which 114 people have become free from this infection.

Advice to states to impose curfew at night
Union Health Secretary Bhushan said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had already advised the states on December 21 to impose restrictions like night curfew, controlling large gatherings. The capacity of beds and other logistics should be increased and COVID appropriate practices should be strictly implemented.

89% of the population got the first dose
Today, we have 18,10,083 isolation beds, 4,94,314 O2 supported beds, 1,39,300 ICU beds, 24,057 pediatric ICU beds, and 64,796 pediatric non-ICU beds available nationally. 89% of the adult population has received the first dose and 61% of the eligible population has received the second dose of COVID19 vaccines.
