New Delhi: The Central Government has reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 158 from today, giving a big relief to the LPG consumers of the country. This is the second price cut in a month after the government slashed the price of domestic cooking gas by Rs 200 on Rakshabandhan.
According to Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the new retail sale price of a 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1,522. The domestic LPG cylinder is now available in Delhi for Rs 903, in Bhopal for Rs 908, and in Jaipur for Rs 906. The beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana will get the cylinder for Rs 703.
The price of domestic LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 50 in March 2023, making it Rs 1103 in Delhi. The prices were also hiked by Rs 50 in July 2022. Since June 2020, there has been no subsidy on LPG cylinders except for Ujjwala beneficiaries, who get a subsidy of Rs 200. Ujjwala beneficiaries will now get the cylinder for around Rs 700.
The price of commercial LPG gas cylinders was also reduced by Rs 100 on August 1. The prices of gas cylinders are updated by the oil companies on the first day of every month.
