In a statement, the commission said that in the door-to-door campaign, excluding security personnel, 20 people will now be able to participate instead of 10, while political parties will be allowed indoor meetings up to a maximum of 500 people or 50 percent of the capacity of the hall. Announcing the dates for elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, and Manipur on January 8, the Election Commission announced a ban on rallies, roadshows bikes rallies, and other such campaign programs till January 15. had.
