Kolkata: The West Bengal government has announced that all educational institutions in the state will remain closed till 20 September. At the same time, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that on September 11 and 12, there will be complete lockdown in the state. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made this announcement after the meeting of the state cabinet. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the government wants that the Metro Rail service can be started in the state soon with the rules of social distancing. Also we want to remove the ban on flight service from 6 hotspot states. Flight services can be started three times a week.
Mamta Banerjee said that the central government should give funds from the PM Cares fund to the states to deal with the Kovid-19 epidemic. We want to lift the ban on aircraft operations from 6 most affected states, resuming flight services 3 times a week. Significantly, domestic airlines are banned from 6 cities to Bengal. These include metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
Bengal’s situation improves
The West Bengal Kovid-19 Health Bulletin states that the discharge rate in West Bengal has risen to 79.10 percent. During this period, 3251 patients have recovered and gone home, while 2964 new corona infected cases have been confirmed. Significantly, a total of 144801 cases of Corona virus infection have been reported in West Bengal so far, while 114543 people have recovered and gone home. At the same time 2909 people have died due to infection. There are 27349 active cases in the state. 541 new cases have been registered in Kolkata and 134 in Howrah. At the same time 628 people from Kolkata and 265 people from Howrah have recovered and gone home.
