Jaipur: In a groundbreaking move, the Bhajanlal Sharma-led Rajasthan government has approved a series of significant initiatives aimed at empowering women, supporting pensioners, and promoting sustainable energy.

33% Reservation for Women in the Police Force

The Rajasthan Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has approved a proposal to reserve 33% of police force positions for women. This decision aligns with the promises made in the Aapno Agrani Rajasthan Sankalp Patra-2023, prioritizing women’s safety and employment.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa announced that the amendment to the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Services Rules, 1989, has been approved. The Personnel Department will soon issue a notification to implement this change. Dr. Bairwa emphasized that this initiative will increase women’s employment opportunities and enhance their representation in the Rajasthan Police.

Additional Allowance for Pensioners

In the same cabinet meeting, the government approved a 5% additional allowance for pensioners aged 70 to 75 and family pensioners. Chief Minister Sharma announced this decision during the discussion on the Rajasthan Appropriation and Finance Bill, which aims to provide financial relief to senior citizens.

Inclusive Pension Payment Order (PPO) Amendments

The cabinet has also approved amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Service Pension Rules, 1996, to include permanently disabled children, dependent parents, and disabled siblings in the Pension Payment Order (PPO) if no other eligible member is available. This amendment aligns with the pension rules of the Central Government and ensures broader support for families of retired state government employees.

Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel announced the approval of land allotment for 3,150 MW solar power projects. This initiative is expected to create numerous employment opportunities and significantly boost the state’s revenue. The establishment of these solar power projects underscores the government’s commitment to sustainable energy and economic growth.

These landmark decisions reflect the Rajasthan government’s dedication to social welfare, gender equality, and sustainable development. The initiatives are set to bring about positive changes in the lives of women, pensioners, and the broader community in Rajasthan.
