Pune: The controversies surrounding trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar continue to mount. According to media reports, the Pune Traffic Police have issued a notice to Khedkar for illegally using a red light on her vehicle and displaying a Maharashtra government strip. Further investigation revealed that the Audi, registered under Thermoverita Engineering Private Company since June 2012, has 21 recorded traffic violations. These include speeding and red light jumping, resulting in fines amounting to ₹27,000.

Pune ACP Manoj Patil confirmed that traffic challans have been pending on the Audi used by Khedkar since 2022. The vehicle’s misuse has brought additional scrutiny to Khedkar’s actions and raised questions about her adherence to the law.

Khedkar recently made headlines when a picture of her Audi with red-blue beacon lights went viral. Reports suggest she submitted two different types of disability certificates for the UPSC exam. She joined the Pune Collectorate as a Probationary Assistant Collector on June 3.
District Magistrate Sahas Diwas has taken action against Khedkar for her escalating VIP demands. She reportedly occupied her senior officer’s office in his absence, removed his belongings, and placed a plaque with her name outside the office. Khedkar also demanded a personalized letterhead, visiting card, paperweight, national flag, seal, and intercom facility from the revenue assistant. Additionally, she requested a house and a government vehicle, privileges not typically granted to trainee officers.

Pooja Khedkar’s father, Dilip Khedkar, has also served as an assistant district magistrate in Pune and is now involved in politics. His influence and connections have added another layer to the ongoing controversies surrounding his daughter.
