The announcements come just before the festival of Holi, marking a gesture of goodwill from the state government.

Dearness Allowance Hike for State Employees
The Chief Minister declared an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees by four percent. This increment is expected to benefit a large number of employees, providing them with additional financial support amidst the rising cost of living.

Reduction in VAT on Fuel
In a press conference, CM Sharma also revealed that the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel will be reduced by two percent. This reduction will lead to a decrease in fuel prices across different cities in the state, with petrol prices expected to drop by Rs 1.40 to Rs 5.30 and diesel prices by Rs 1.34 to Rs 4.85. The new fuel prices are set to be effective from 6 am on the following Friday.

BJP’s Visionary Leadership in Rajasthan
The recent elections in Rajasthan witnessed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government with a significant victory. Bhajanlal Sharma, succeeding Vasundhara Raje, has been entrusted with the role of Chief Minister, bringing a fresh perspective to the state’s leadership.

Power Generation and Energy Sector Developments
Under the ‘double engine’ government, which refers to the BJP’s governance at both the state and central levels, CM Sharma emphasized the visionary decisions being made in the energy sector. He stated that these decisions would soon position Rajasthan as a surplus state in power generation. The Chief Minister made these remarks during a function organized to sign MoUs and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) worth Rs 1.60 lakh crore. These agreements are set to bolster thermal and renewable energy projects, transmission systems, and other developmental works in the state.
