Mumbai: At least 10 people have died after a three-storey building collapsed in Bhiwandi near Mumbai early today.
According to preliminary information, five people have been rescued from building debris in Patel compound area.
The accident occurred at around 3:40 am. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire brigade and police teams are continuously making efforts.
Thane Municipal Corporation spokesperson said, “The number of people who died in a building collapse in Bhiwandi has risen to 10.
According to preliminary information, 20 people have been rescued by the locals after the building collapsed in the Patel compound area of the city early in the morning.
The building was weakened due to heavy rains in Mumbai. There were 21 families living in it. The NDRF team rescued a child from the debris on Monday morning. According to initial information, the building was built in 1984. Earlier, a building has fallen due to rain.
