Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police Chief DGP HC Awasthi has issued instructions regarding uniforms, shoes, hair, and beard of policemen. According to the directive, no one will be allowed to wear a beard except the policemen of the Sikh faith. Not only that, except Sikhism, all policemen have to keep their beards clean-shaven. At the same time, it has been said that policemen have to get permission from their officers to keep their hair or beard temporarily on religious grounds. This is considered to be a big decision for the Yogi government.

From buttons to shoe color
Navratri, Sawan, the birth of a child, after the death of someone in the family, there is a ban on cutting hair or beard in Hinduism. In such a situation, a policeman can keep his hair and beard with the permission of the head of his department. At the same time, instructions have been issued regarding the color of shoes from the button of the shirt while wearing the uniform. Strict prohibitions are also given on wearing sports shoes, sandals, or slippers. At the same time, DGP HC Awasthi has instructed the authorities to stop those wearing the wrong uniforms.

SI Intsar Ali, a sub-inspector posted at Ramala police station in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, was suspended by the Superintendent of Police and sent to the police line on the charge of having a long beard without permission. It is being reported that the Superintendent of Police had warned Daroga Intasar Ali to cut his beard three times. He was also asked to get permission from the department to keep his beard, but for the last several months, Daroga Intasar Ali had been keeping his beard ignoring the order.

Saharanpur resident Intasar Ali had joined UP Police as SI and has been working in Baghpat district for the last three years. He was posted at Ramala police station before the lockdown. Contrary to the rules of the police department, having a long beard was discussed. (

The SP informed against the police manual
SP Abhishek Singh told News18 that according to the police manual, no other officer or employee except the policemen of the Sikh community can have a beard while stationed in the police force and if anyone wants to keep it, he has to get permission from the administration. But Daroga Intasar Ali was growing a beard without permission, which was being complained about. Despite much persuasion and notice, he has shown indiscipline by not shaving his beard. Action has been taken against Daroga on this.
