Pune: In a significant development related to the Pune Porsche car accident, the family of the 17-year-old accused boy allegedly pressured their family driver to plead guilty and offered him money to do so. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed that the boy’s father and grandfather initially enticed the driver with monetary rewards and gifts, then threatened him to take responsibility for the fatal accident.

According to the police, the incident occurred on May 19 when the teenager was driving the Porsche that struck and killed two people. The driver, initially claiming responsibility, later revealed that he had been coerced into making a false statement. The accused’s grandfather allegedly took the driver to their bungalow, confiscated his mobile phone, and confined him. The driver’s wife eventually rescued him, leading to the subsequent investigation.

The police have arrested the teenager’s grandfather, and further details, including blood and DNA samples, are expected to emerge next week.
