Beijing: China on Monday refused to react to the news that its officials did not participate in the ‘secretive’ G20 meeting in Arunachal Pradesh. China has been asserting its claim on Arunachal Pradesh. However, India has rejected China’s claim outright and said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.

When asked about reports of China not attending the meeting held in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar on Sunday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said during a press conference, “I am not aware of what you are saying.” He said, “I will have to collect information from my colleagues in this regard.”

This question and the answer was given to it are not mentioned in the transcript of the press conference posted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. The program in Arunachal Pradesh was part of 200 meetings scheduled in more than 50 major cities in India. The report said that the theme of the G20 meeting in Itanagar was ‘Research, Innovation Initiative, Gathering’ and it was organized by the state’s science and technology department.
