Massive bomb blast in Peshawars Jama Masjid

New Delhi: There has been a massive explosion in a mosque in Pakistan. It is being told that the blast took place in a mosque in the northwest of Peshawar, Pakistan. According to media reports, the police have said that 30 people have died in this blast so far. Geo News quoted health and police officials as saying that a blast took place inside the mosque during Friday prayers in Peshawar’s Kocha Risaldar area.

About 56 people are said to be injured in the incident. Police and rescue personnel have reached the spot after the blast. The injured are being shifted to nearby health centers. A rescue official said the blast took place at the Jamia Masjid in the Kisa Khwani Bazar area when people were offering Friday prayers. Officials said the condition of 10 injured is stated to be critical.

The report quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the loud explosion took place during Friday prayers. Peshawar SSP Operation Haroon al-Rashid told Geo News that it was apparently a suicide attack.
