New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a rescheduling of the Civil Services Examination (Preliminary) for the year 2024. Initially set for May 26, 2024, the examination has been postponed to June 16, 2024, in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The decision to postpone the examination was made to avoid any conflicts with the election schedule, which is set from April 19 to June 1, 2024. This change affects both the Civil Services Preliminary Examination and the Indian Forest Service Preliminary Examination.

Candidates who have applied for the examinations now have additional time to prepare, as the new date provides a three-week extension from the original schedule. The UPSC has confirmed that the admit cards for the examinations will be released in the first week of June 2024.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of the most competitive exams in India, serving as a gateway to prestigious government positions, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and others.

For more information and updates regarding the examination and the new schedule, candidates are advised to regularly check the official UPSC website or refer to the official notice.
