New Delhi: On the new year, the government has intensified preparations for the Corona vaccine in the country. On Friday, Dr. Vinod Paul, member of the NITI Aayog and the head of the National Covid-19 task force, said that in the first phase of its immunization campaign, the government was able to provide 30 crore individuals associated with priority groups. According to the report, about 96000 people in the country have been trained for corona vaccination. Dr. Vinod Paul said, in the next 6-8 months, frontline workers, especially those working in healthcare and the elderly, will be targeted to be vaccinated in the initial phase of vaccination. He said that 31 hubs have been built to supply vaccines at 29,000 vaccination points in the last mile distribution so that there is no problem.

Preparations made for the vaccine across the country
Dr. Paul said that a lot of preparations have already been made for the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines across the country. He said industry, government, and stakeholders are all working together as a team across the country. He said, nationwide health workers, will be targeted in the immediate phase of vaccination. He said that the government’s preparation to vaccinate other priority groups is also in its advanced stages.


The vaccine will be given to 30 crore people

Highlighting the government’s approach to vaccination, he said that priority groups comprise 300 million persons and not the entire population. We are looking at vaccination efforts as a holistic public health response. We want to reduce deaths related to Covid-19, therefore, we chose high-risk groups.

Stockpiling will increase in future
Dr. Paul assured that stockpiling capacity would be increased in the future to ensure comprehensive vaccination against Covid-19. We want to ensure that hard immunity develops throughout the country. The ultimate goal is to prevent the spread of the disease which requires extensive vaccination.
