Karan Adani and Anant Ambani included in Maharashtra government’s advisory council

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Monday announced the formation of its Economic Advisory Council (EAC), appointing Tata Sons chief N Chandrasekaran as its chairman. According to an official proposal, the new generation of Ambani and Adani families has also been given a place in this 21-member council.

Karan Adani, son of Adani Group chief Gautam Adani, as well as Anant Ambani, younger son of Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani, have also been made part of the advisory council. Karan is the CEO of his group company Adani Ports & SEZ Limited. He has been included in the council as an expert in the port and SEZ sectors. At the same time, Anant Ambani is associated with the family business of Reliance Group.

The government resolution states that the Economic Advisory Council is an independent body to advise the state government on economic and related issues. The council includes experts from the textile, pharmaceutical, port, special economic zones, banking, agriculture, industry, engineering, and manufacturing sectors.
