Indian TV channels received the most advertisements till October 30: Bark

Mumbai: With the festive season approaching, TV channels received the highest increase ever in the week ending September 30. It surpassed the record of the last five years.

The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) released data on Thursday. The report comes at a time when the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to decline by up to ten percent. However, it does not show an effect on the revenue of the channels. In his report, Bark attributed the increase in advertisements to the festive season and the airing of big events like the IPL.

3.87 million seconds of commercials aired
The report states that a total of 38.7 million seconds of advertisements were aired on TV channels during the period under review. It surpassed the previous high level of 2015. Just last week, the time of advertisements aired on TV channels was 379 million seconds. If compared on a weekly basis, it is more than the time of 366 million seconds broadcast in the 43rd week of 2018.
