New Delhi: Convicted Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has once again got parole for 30 days. In such a situation, Rohtak’s Sunaria will soon come out of jail. This time also Ram Rahim will stay at Barnawa Ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.
Significantly, Ram Rahim’s visit to Sirsa Dera has been banned. Be aware that Ram Rahim got parole for 40 days in January this year. This is Ram Rahim’s 7th parole after being in jail for 30 months.
- Got parole 6 times so far On October 24, 2020, for the first time, the government granted him parole for one day to meet his ailing mother.
- On May 21, 2021, for the second time, he was given parole for 1 day only to meet his ailing mother.
- 21 days parole by Haryana Govt on 7th February 2022.
- Again 30 days parole on June 2022.
- Out of jail again on 40 days parole on October 2022.
- On January 21, 2023, again got parole for 40 days.
Know what is parole?
In fact, before the completion of the parole sentence, the convict is released from jail for a few days. Good behavior is also a big condition. For this, the prisoner has to give the necessary reason for getting out of jail and the government of the concerned state takes the final decision on granting him parole. In other words, usually in return for the good behavior of the prisoner, the temporary release he gets before the end of the sentence is called parole.
However, the guidelines for granting parole vary from state to state. These are issued under the Jail (Bombay Furlough and Parole) Rules 1959 and Section 59(5) of the Prisons Act, 1984 only.
