Mumbai: Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Group, died in a road accident on Sunday. His Mercedes-Benz GLC 220 car collided with a divider on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway. After this accident, questions were also raised about the safety of Mercedes’ high-end luxury car. Now the police have called for an answer from the German company Mercedes Benz, who made it, regarding its safety features. The police have sent the data chip of the car to Germany.

Now the police and the Mercedes company are finding out what caused this accident. What was the speed of the car at the time of the accident? Which airbags were operated in the car? Whether the brakes of the car and other machines were working or not? To answer all these questions, the police have removed the ECM ie Engine Control Module of Cyrus Mistry’s car, and sent it to Germany. Decoding it will give complete details about the SUV, which will be shared with the police.

Police say that Mercedes claims to have taken all its vehicles out of the plant only after proper testing. Therefore the company has been asked what is the report of collision impact in the test and investigation conducted by the manufacturer… and whether was there any mechanical fault in the car? These questions have also been raised by the police because Mercedes’ GLC 220 has got a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP test.
