London: England, beat India by 100 runs in the second ODI here on Thursday with the career-best bowling of fast bowler Reece Topley in the three-match ODI series 1-1. Equalized. Chasing England’s target of 247, India was reduced to just 146 runs in 38.5 overs in front of the stormy bowling of Topley (6 for 24). No Indian batsman could even touch the 30-run mark. Hardik Pandya (29), Ravindra Jadeja (29), Suryakumar Yadav (27), and Mohammed Shami (23) lost wickets after staying at the crease.

England’s team also piled up 246 runs in 49 overs in front of the sharp bowling of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (4 for 47), Hardik (2 for 28), and Jasprit Bumrah (2 for 49). Went.

No batsman from England could convert a good start into big innings. With the half-century partnership of Moeen Ali and David Willey, the team made a challenging score while overcoming the odd conditions. Moeen scored 47 while Willie took advantage of two lives and scored 41 runs. Both shared a 62-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Moeen also added 46 runs for the sixth wicket with Liam Livingstone (33). Opener Jonny Bairstow scored 38 runs.

Chasing the target, India had a very poor start and the team lost four wickets for 31 runs from which the team could never recover. The Indian batsmen were troubled a lot by England’s fast bowlers Topley and Willie. The team lost the wicket of captain Rohit Sharma (0) in the third over, who was lbw by Topley.

India’s first run with the bat came off the 27th ball when Shikhar Dhawan took a run off Topley in the fifth over. Virat Kohli hit the first four of the innings in this over and then hit two consecutive fours in the next over of this fast bowler.

After scoring nine off 26 balls, Dhawan was caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler off Topley. India sent Rishabh Pant up the batting order but he played a Bryden Cars full toss straight into the fielder at mid-on.

Kohli (16) also caught Buttler in the next over by touching the bat on the ball moving outside Willie’s off-side. Suryakumar and Hardik then carried on the innings. Both took the team’s score beyond 50 runs in the 15th over. Suryakumar hit the first six of the innings on Kars but Topley’s ball was played on the wickets. He scored 27 runs in 29 balls. After this, Hardik also got caught by Livingstone off Moeen’s ball.

India’s century of runs was completed in the 27th over. Shami showed his attitude as soon as he came. He opened the account with a four-off Moin and then hit a six in the next over of the off-spinner. He, along with Jadeja, took the team’s score to 140 runs, but after that India lost both of these wickets in successive balls. Shami was caught by Topley by Stokes while Jadeja was bowled by Livingstone.

Topley took a five-wicket haul for the first time in his career by bowling Chahal (03) and then caught the famous Krishna (00) at the hands of Butler to lead England to victory. Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Bairstow and Jason Roy (23) faced the new-ball pair of Bumrah and Mohammed Shami (1 for 48), who shared nine wickets in the first ODI.

Roy hit the first four of the innings on Shami and then hit fours and sixes in this fast bowler’s over. Roy was lucky to score 23 runs in the eighth over when Bumrah dropped his catch on his own delivery.

However, Roy could not take advantage of the lifeline, and Pandya’s poor ball was played directly into the hands of Suryakumar Yadav at deep backward square leg. After Roy’s dismissal, Bairstow took the lead. He also hit two fours on the famous Krishna after hitting a four on Chahal.

Bairstow, however, got bowled in the 15th over of the innings in an attempt to play a slog sweep off Chahal. He hit six fours off 38 balls. Chahal in his next over lbw Joe Root (11) while Shami bowled Jos Buttler (04) to make England 87 for four.

Livingstone hit sixes and fours in successive deliveries from Pandya but the next ball of the same fast bowler was played at deep square leg in the hands of substitute player Shreyas Iyer. He faced 33 balls and hit two sixes and two fours.

Moeen and Willie then took over the innings. Willie was lucky on a personal score of one run when Krishna dropped his catch off Pandya’s delivery. Both Moeen and Willie hit Krishna for sixes. Pandya gave a second life to Shami on the score of 24 runs to Willie. In this 40th over of Shami’s innings, England’s double century of runs was also completed.
