New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested scientist Bharat Bhushan Kataria on charges of a bomb blast in Rohini Court. 47-year-old Bhushan is accused of placing a bomb in a tiffin inside the courtroom to kill his neighbor. The accused is a senior scientist in the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). At the same time, his neighbor is a lawyer. Let us tell you that on December 9 this month, there was a blast inside courtroom number 102 in Rohini Court of Delhi. One person was injured in this.
According to the information given by Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana, the accused entered the court at 9.33 am with two bags on the day of the incident and left one bag in the courtroom itself. After this, he left the court premises at 10.35 am. A senior police officer said, “Both sides have registered several cases against each other. They are neighbors and live in the same building. Prima facie it appears that Kataria had an enmity with the lawyer.
Police have found that Kataria’s neighbor had also lodged a case of assault and hurt against him. In the last hearing, the court had imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on Kataria for unnecessary adjournment.
Because of this, a dispute started with the neighbor
According to the Indian Express, a legal battle started 10 years ago between Bharat Bhushan Kataria and his neighbor lawyer Amit Vashisht over the installation of a lift in a three-story building. When he filed a complaint about it, the matter became bigger. The lawyer and the accused scientist live in the same builder flat. The dispute between the two has been about water and sometimes other issues.
According to sources, Bharat Bhushan Kataria told the police that he was fed up with all this. Three years ago, he had left his house and shifted to a rented house in the same area. He was paying 50 thousand rupees for the rent of this house. He was further upset as he was not able to leave the office to attend the court hearings.
Bought ammonium nitrate from an e-commerce website and learned to make bombs from YouTube
Kataria further told the police that he allegedly decided to get rid of lawyer Vashishth after coming to know about his wife’s medical condition. He allegedly ordered several devices from e-commerce websites and ammonium nitrate from a local shop. Bhushan spent around Rs 5,000 on it and reportedly learned to make bombs online, including on YouTube.
The Delhi Police had earlier this month arrested a DRDO scientist in connection with a low-intensity blast inside the Rohini district court here. The scientist had done this explosion to kill the neighbor.
