Tokyo: Indian star para athletic Nishad Kumar has created history by winning the silver medal in the high jump T47 at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. With this, he has become the first para athletic of India, who has won a medal in the high jump. With this, India has got two medals in the Paralympics at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Nishad Kumar jumped 2.02 meters in the first attempt. He jumped 2.06 meters in the second attempt. America’s Roderick Townsend won the gold medal. The silver medal was shared by Dallas Wise and Nishad Kumar of America. Nishad Kumar and Dallas Wise’s best jump was 2.06 meters.

Nishad made a record
Along with winning the silver medal in Paralympics, Nishad Kumar has also made many records in his name. He has created a new record in Asia by performing his best.

Another happy news came from Tokyo
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted congratulating Nishad Kumar. The PM wrote, “Another happy news from Tokyo! I am extremely happy to have Nishad Kumar winning a silver medal in the men’s high jump T-47. He is a remarkable athlete with excellent skill and tenacity. Congratulations to him.”

Made India proud by proving excellence
President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted, “Congratulations Nishad Kumar on winning the silver medal in the men’s high jump at the Tokyo Paralympics. You have made India proud by proving your excellence on the global stage. My heartiest congratulations to you for your great performance and success.”

Earlier, Bhavinben Patel has created history by winning the silver medal in table tennis of the Paralympics. She won a silver medal in the women’s singles final of the Table Tennis Class 4 event of the Tokyo Games on Sunday.

In this match, she lost 0-3 against world number one Zhou Ying of China, but she registered a historic victory by winning the silver medal. She has become the second Indian female player to win a silver medal at the Paralympic Games.
