The investigation into the death of the 22,year,old woman, an academically brilliant IIT Delhi graduate, has revealed a chilling sequence of events. On Wednesday morning, while the victim was studying for her civil services exams, Rahul Meena entered the upscale Kailash Hills residence at approximately 6:30 AM. Having worked in the household for eight months before being dismissed six weeks ago for financial misconduct, Meena was intimately familiar with the family’s morning routine and security passcodes.
According to police sources, the accused went directly to the rooftop study room. When the victim resisted his attempt to overpower her, Meena allegedly struck her with a table lamp and a heavy water bottle, eventually strangling her with a mobile phone charging cable. Forensic evidence suggests the victim was sexually assaulted while in an unconscious state.

The “Digital Locker” Motive and Theft
In a particularly gruesome detail, investigators found that Meena dragged the unconscious victim by her hair from the fourth, floor study down to the third floor. His primary objective was to open a biometric digital locker using the girl’s fingerprints. When the blood, stained fingers failed to trigger the sensor, possibly due to lack of blood circulation, he used a screwdriver to force the locker open.
The accused reportedly made off with approximately ₹2.5 lakh in cash and various pieces of jewelry. Before fleeing, he removed his blood, soaked trousers, hid them in a wardrobe, and changed into a pair of pants belonging to the victim’s brother.
Tracking the “Remorseless” Accused
The Delhi Police formed 15 specialized teams to track Meena, who had fled the scene in an auto, rickshaw. He was eventually traced through a complex digital trail involving a stolen mobile phone, hotel Wi,Fi logs in Dwarka, and Instagram activity.
During interrogation, officials described Meena as “entirely remorseless,” maintaining a calm demeanor while stating that the incident “just happened.” He reportedly told investigators, “If didi had given the money, this would not have happened,” suggesting he blamed the victim for her own fate.
Escalating Criminal Pattern
The case has taken on an even darker dimension as Alwar Police confirmed that Meena was already a fugitive at the time of the Delhi murder. On the night of April 21, 2026, he allegedly raped a neighbor in his native village in Rajasthan before hiring a vehicle to reach the national capital.
The IRS officer’s daughter, described as an all,India topper in her school years, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after her parents discovered her body in a pool of blood upon their return from the gym. Meena remains in four, day police custody as authorities continue to reconstruct the crime scene and finalize the forensic report.
