
New Delhi: Airline chief IndiGo on Friday said it has partnered with on-demand platform CarterPorter to provide door-to-door baggage delivery (delivery to the home) service. This is good news for travelers traveling by airplane. Under door-to-door baggage transfer service, IndiGo will pick up the passengers’ luggage from home and deliver it to the final destination.
The airline has started service in New Delhi and Hyderabad from 1 April and later it will also be started from Mumbai and Bengaluru airports. The airline said the facility would enable passengers to travel worry-free, as it would provide the facility to move their luggage from one place to another without any additional assistance inside the Carterport terminal.

According to the airline, the service starts at a nominal rate of Rs 630. IndiGo Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer Sanjay Kumar said in a statement, “This service will provide relief to customers who want to travel from home to airport with extra baggage or without bag for a meeting directly from the airport. Baggage service can be availed 24 hours before the flight of an air passenger flight through ‘6eBagport’ and this facility can be availed anytime after arrival.
