London: In another ‘Kill the Bill’ anti-lockdown protests in the southwestern city of Bristol, England, hundreds of protesters lay eggs on British police officers and Glass bottles were thrown. Police arrested 10 people during this period. Following a standoff between police and protesters on Friday evening, officers made several warnings via loudspeakers after which they attempted to disperse the crowd. Local Avon and Somerset Police said police operations near the Bridwell Police Station in the city used specialist resources, including dogs and a police helicopter.

Referring to Friday’s protest, Superintendent Mark Runacre said, “Most of the people acted in a peaceful manner, but some took violent positions and threw glass bottles and bricks at the officers.” He said, “This violent conduct is not acceptable. Officials repeatedly asked people to disperse, but once the atmosphere changed, people became violent and action was necessary. ”

Three of those arrested were detained in connection with the nuisance in the city last Sunday. On Friday evening more than a thousand people gathered for the protest at Bristol’s College Green.

The so-called ‘Kill the Bill’ protesters are protesting against the government’s police, crime, punishment and court bill that will give the police more powers to deal with the protest.
