New Delhi: Amid an investigation into a case involving the popular restaurant ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi, YouTuber Gaurav Vasan said that he was being defamed. He claims that he had handed over an amount of Rs 3.78 lakh to the Dhaba owner. Vasan had made a video of the owner of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ and uploaded it on YouTube after which the video went viral and people came forward to help the owner of Dhaba.

However, about a month after the video went viral, Dhaba owner Kanta Prasad has lodged a complaint of money laundering against Instagram influencer and YouTuber Gaurav Vasan. Talking to PTI-Bhasha, Prasad said that he received a check of Rs 2.33 lakh from Vasan. When asked about the rest of the amount, he said that he did not know how much money Vasan deposited in his name, only Vasan or the giver would know about it.
Denying the allegation, Vasan said, “He is defaming me by making false claims. They are saying that Rs 25 lakh came to my bank account for help, which is not true. ” When asked how much he got for the help, Vasan said he got around Rs 3.78 lakh in this regard, including the amount he got from Paytm. He claimed that he gave two checks to him (restaurant owner). One check was Rs 1 lakh while the other check was Rs 2.33 lakh while Rs 45,000 was given to Prasad through Paytm.
