
London: A car has crashed into the front gate of Downing Street in London, where Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office and residence are located. The driver has been arrested for dangerous driving. London Police has given this information.
In a statement, police said a car crashed into the gates of Downing Street on Whitehall at approximately 4:20 p.m. Armed officers arrested a man from the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving.
Video footage of the incident showed a white car driving at low speed across Whitehall, where many government ministries are located.
Officials soon reached the spot and could be seen calling off the operation in no time. Whitehall, located between London’s famous Trafalgar Square to Parliament Square, was under siege. Officials inside Downing Street have reportedly been told to stay inside and it is unclear whether Sunak was in his office at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, pictures viral on social media show a white passenger car with its trunk open, seen ramming the gates of Downing Street.

There is no news of anyone getting injured in this incident. Police is questioning the driver. Along with this, the incident is being investigated from every angle. At the same time, PM Sunak’s office refused to comment.
