San Diego (United States): An explosion and fire at a naval base in San Diego left 21 people with minor burns. In the US Pacific Fleet, Naval Surface Force spokesman Mike Raney said that the USS Bonhomme Richard ‘caught fire shortly before 9 am Sunday.

Raine said in a brief statement that 17 scorched naval personnel and four civilians have been admitted to the hospital. “There is no threat to his life”. The cause of the explosion and fire in the vessel is being investigated. Raine said that around 160 people were on board the vessel at the time of the accident.
